Just a quick summary of yesterday before eye begin todays post..
yesterday was flash aaaalllll day ^_^
The day started with a few hiccups in the uni network meaning eye had two put up with not being able to access my work.. and darren repeatedly telling me eye should back up my work - yes, eye'm an idiot... and no, eye don't have a memory stick, and yes... eye'm too poor to buy one.....
after much messing about trying to find a mac that eye could access my work on, the network was back up and eye was able to begin work on my masterpiece.
My final piece is coming together but eye've had to rejig my storyboard a bit two incorporate the timing a little better. eye'm still not certain eye will get all my statistics into just 90seconds, but we'll see...
Today,
my morning began with work on my essay with brian. Got quite alot done and he reminded me of some important bits eye should add... eye'm feeling alot more motivated to get it done now. Eye haff 500 odd words... only 1500 to go. Eye'm hoping that when eye add all of the points eye brought up today to the essay it will pad it out a bit more and enable me to explore more context and theory on the two advertisements eye've chosen.
After work on my essay, eye caught up with everyone else who hadn't gone to Amsterdam (thats the cool people..) and found we had been given a small project by Kit.
Eye'm not sure eye really enjoyed the mini project we were set... eye haff so much other work to be getting on with, this all seemed a bit forced and pointless, seeing as we have so much other work to do.

Another thing we did twoday which isn't on the brief and took up the best part of the afternoon was tracing typography... sounds fun doesn't it? Eye mean, the theory behind tracing typography and creating an A4 piece that visually communicates the meanings of the words: leading, tracking and kerning is all good and makes sense. But, practically... eye already knew what these words meant. It was just frustrating, sat tracing words, watching time pass when I had so much research eye cud haf been doing in the library.. aaahhhhrrg.!
Okay... rant over... just to summarize:
leading: vertical spacing between lines (can stretch or reduce a paragraph without adjusting type)
tracking: spacing between letters (can be s p a c e d o u t orsquashedtogether)
kerning: manually changing the spacing between letters (can also be done in pairs 'kerning pairs': eg.. To, Ty or Ye)
anyway, anyway...
eye'm off two make some dinner... somewhat hungry!
